Joel enjoys all things music! He has been taking piano lessons for 14 years and teaching piano lessons for 8 years. Joel was in the Phoenix Boys Choir from 2011-2015, and toured nationally and internationally. He recently graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and Music Composition degree. In addition to performing and composing, Joel has also worked as a collaborative pianist, as the assistant conductor for the Naperville Men’s Glee Club, as a digital/acoustic audio producer, and as a music copyist and editor (most notably for Dr. Shawn Okpebholo). Joel has taken piano lessons under Dr. Daniel Paul Horn at Wheaton College as well as composition lessons under Dr. Shawn Okpebholo, Dr. Misook Kim, Dr. Xavier Beteta, and Dr. Howard Whitaker and conducting lessons under Dr. Jerry Blackstone and Dr. John Rakes. Joel is passionate about helping students discover the joy of music and give them tools to flourish on their lifelong musical journey.
