Emma Cho
Percussion Instructor
Emma Cho is a percussionist and educator. Currently, she plays with the Wheaton Municipal Band and has performed as a guest with the DuPage Symphony Orchestra and the Fox Valley Orchestra; additionally, Emma has also been featured as a soloist with the Wheaton College Percussion Ensemble. In 2022, she was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Winds and Percussion Division Concerto Competition at Wheaton College.
As an educator, Emma is passionate about providing access to music for everyone, regardless of any potential barriers. This was evident in her work as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Clementi’s Colorful Chimes program through the Wheaton College Community School of the Arts, a music education class for students with special needs.
Emma is a recent graduate from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music where she studied Percussion Pedagogy with Dr. Kathleen Kastner, Michael Folker (Elgin Symphony, Chicago Philharmonic, Chicago Sinfonietta), and Lucas Gillan. She is additionally an experienced pianist, having studied piano for fourteen years under Janna Williamson.
