Noteable Notes teachers are available for hire and provide high quality music in a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, pop, and special requests. All our teachers are experienced performers with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in music, either completed or in progress.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a musician?

Rates and fees depend on the timing and location of the event, as well as the type of music you are requesting and the size of the ensemble. The starting rate is generally $150-$200 for the first hour. Individual musicians set their own pay rates, and all fees and payments are negotiated directly between you and the musician. Noteable Notes does not charge a commission to either the client or the performer.

How far in advance should I book?

Please submit a request approximately 3-6 months in advance of the event. Noteable Notes cannot guarantee that a musician will be available, but this will allow for the greatest availability and flexibility of our musicians. Requests submitted less than a month in advance may be unlikely to be filled.

Things to consider before booking

Is your event casual or formal? Will music be in the background or the focus of the event?
Is the location or venue suitable for musicians? How much space is available for musicians? Do you require a sound system, and if so, are electrical outlets accessible? If you require an acoustic piano, please make sure one is available and have it tuned before the event.
What songs or repertoire do you want the musicians to play? Think about the type of atmosphere you want to create and what styles you might have in mind. Our musicians are also happy to help suggest the perfect selections for your event.
What is your music budget? Cost is influenced by number of players, length of event, travel distance, equipment required, experience of performers and special requests.
Will the performer/ensemble play for the entire event or only certain times? Musicians are compensated for the overall length they are required to be there, not the amount of playing time.
