Mary E. McGinty is from the Chicago area.  She has a degree from the University of Illinois and 12 years experience as a professional cellist.  Her primary joy is performing and working to bring the magic of making music to new players.  Abiding along with her deep love of classical music, she listens especially to contemporary ethnic music (celtic, Latin, gypsy, jazz...) Her tastes are wide-ranging and she used to perform with a Jazz-fusion original music group on an electic cello.

She has a new found joy in music arranging enabling her to have an endless source of new ensemble pieces.

Mary is married to husband, James, and has two adult children - Alana and Jamie.
