Mijin Elsner
Piano Instructor

Mijin Elsner has been a piano teacher at Noteable Notes Music Academy since 2004, bringing over 30 years of rich teaching experience to students of all ages. She provides personalized instruction to school-age children through senior adults, and she truly enjoys watching her students grow in confidence, technical skill, and a genuine love for the piano. Mijin is passionate about teaching and firmly believes that everyone can experience the joy of learning music at any stage of life.
Mijin graduated from SookMyung University in Seoul, South Korea, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Piano. Her extensive training includes studying under mentors Dong Soon Park (M.A., Manhattan School of Music) and Young In Lee (M.A., Juilliard School of Music). After moving to the United States, she continued her advanced studies with Dr. Mary Nelson at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and with international Beethoven Competition winner Nicolas Roth at Indiana University.
In addition to teaching at Noteable Notes and maintaining her own private studio in West Chicago, Mijin has a vibrant background in church music and collaborative performance. She served as a piano accompanist at Hanmee Presbyterian Church in Itasca for 15 years, where she also directed the handbell choir. Since 2019, Mijin has been a proud member of The Agape Ringers, Chicago’s premier auditioned community handbell ensemble, performing in concert series and touring numerous states across the Midwest and beyond.
