Richard Sladek

Richard Sladek

A Chicago native, Mr. Sladek earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University and has been the recipient of awards from the Chicago Musical Arts Club and the Grace Welsh National Piano Competition.

Professionally, he has served as staff accompanist for Columbia College, the Second City National Touring Company, The Southwest Symphony Orchestra, and the Salt Creek Ballet. He was also a featured artist at Nordstrom-Oak Brook Center, and at Von Maur at Yorktown Center, Lombard.

As musical director/composer for 16 years with the nationally acclaimed education theater troupe, Wavelength, he performed for more than 100,000 educators in North America and the Netherlands.  He has played in numerous musical theater productions, most notably for the Shubert and Marriott Lincolnshire Theaters, the Theater at the Center, and the legendary Candlelight Dinner Playhouse.

Mr. Sladek has also recorded two solo piano CDs, "Piano Celebration" and "Ragtime Classics”.

When not performing, he coaches and encourages young pianists.
