Brass Lessons
Adam is a freelance teacher and performer in the Chicago area with over 15 years of teaching experience. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Master of Music in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa, where he also completed doctoral studies with an emphasis on musician health. As an active performer, Adam has played with ensembles including the St. Louis Philharmonic, St. Louis Brass Band, and Union Avenue Opera, and has appeared with award-winning chamber groups throughout the Midwest. He has also presented masterclasses and performances at universities across the country, bringing a high level of artistry and real-world experience into every lesson.
As a teacher, Adam is passionate about helping students of all ages build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music. His students have earned scholarships, won competitions, and achieved top placements in honor bands and festivals. Known for his supportive and engaging teaching style, Adam works closely with each student to help them reach their individual goals, whether they are preparing for school band, auditions, or simply learning for enjoyment.
